Radiesse Injections in Albany, NY
For injections of Radiesse, patients can trust DeLuca Plastic Surgery. Radiesse volumizing filler is a quick, convenient, and comfortable dermal filler that provides immediate and long-lasting results. Radiesse fills in vertical lip lines, corners of the mouth, and nasolabial folds. Board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. William F. DeLuca, Jr., personally administers all injections of this product, so you know that at DeLuca Plastic Surgery, your cosmetic surgery is in good hands.
What is Radiesse?
FDA-approved Radiesse is considered a synthetic compound that does not contain animal by-products. Instead, it is made of microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite that combine with a water-based gel, enabling this product to immediately add volume to improve facial contouring. The result is a smooth surface that looks and feels natural.
As with all dermal injectables, it is important to trust your face with a provider that has experience and extensive knowledge. While the procedure is intended to be relatively simple and extremely quick, in the wrong hands, this type of injection can deliver less than optimal results. Dr. DeLuca personally administers all Radiesse injections to ensure that you achieve the most optimal result possible.
Radiesse vs. Juvederm and Restylane
Radiesse has a higher molecular weight (which causes it to be thicker) than Juvederm Ultra Plus and Perlane/Restylane. In terms of chemical makeup, Radiesse is closer to cartilage (calcium hydroxyapetitea), whereas Juvederm and Restylane are gel forms of hyaluronic acid. According to several clinical studies and actual patient use, Radiesse dermal injections have been proven to:
- Stimulate natural collagen production
- Replenish lost volume, which creates a more youthful appearance
- Produce results that last a year or more in many patients
How does Radiesse fill in facial wrinkles and folds?
This injectable gel is a modern calcium hydroxyapatite filler that adds volume to the skin. It is often used to treat wrinkles and folds that appear due to reduced volume under the skin’s surface, which naturally occurs as you get older. If you want a softer, younger look, adding volume through this dermal filler is recommended.
For the past 15 years, I have been a patient of Dr. William DeLuca. Over the years, Dr. DeLuca has personally performed cosmetic work on me, including both major and minor out patient procedures and maintenance Botox injections.
I have always found Dr. DeLuca to be very professional, honest and caring. I feel he has always been upfront about everything with me as a patient, particularly if I inquired about a certain procedure where he would tell me “you do not need it (yet)”.
Not only have I been Dr. DeLuca’s patient, but my mother and my 21 year old son have had surgery performed by him as well. He has also performed out-patient procedures on my 18 year old son too.
I feel Dr. DeLuca has always had complete integrity as a doctor and I have always completed trusted him, literally with my life. Not only have I trusted him with my life, but my mother’s and most of all my son’s lives as well.

Radiesse works similarly to the natural collagen in the skin – it hydrates the surface and keeps it supple. This substance fills in and eliminates not only fine lines but also acne scars and other abnormalities that may mark the facial skin. You will mostly see an effect on static facial lines, which are the lines that are noticeable when you are not moving your face. These lines appear when your skin is not as elastic as it once was.
Aside from age, the cause of static lines may be years of smoking, damage from the sun, and genetics. The main places that static lines are found include:
- Lips, cheeks and chin
- Between eyebrows
- Nasolabial folds (laugh lines)
- Backs of hands
Is Radiesse the right wrinkle treatment for you?

There are some skin types that may benefit from other forms of treatment. Depending on the thickness of your skin, location of the wrinkles, and their severity, DeLuca Plastic Surgery will be able to customize a plan to improve your appearance and recommend alternate dermal fillers, such as Juvederm or Sculptra, if necessary.
